basically free education to approximately 400 children

Story Time

About the School Project

Encarta Encyclopedia reported that access to education is sharply limited by school location, the cost of school clothes and supplies, and the availability of teachers. Only about 51 percent of the primary school. According to the Interim Cooperation Framework (ICF) about 500,000 children still do not have access to primary education and the quality and effectiveness of education is very low.

This project is to build a new school building in Lascahobas, Haiti. The new construction will help Doxa relocate 96 children that are schooled in makeshift church building to the new building. The new construction will provide a much-improved learning environment for the children. We estimate that the project will benefit approximately 400 children (200 in the morning session and 200 in the evening). These children have currently no to very limited access to primary education. The school will be developed on parcel of land that will be deeded to Doxa by the Maranatha church where the school is currently located.

The proposed building improvement will occupy approximately 5,500 square feet and will be designed to include ten (10) classrooms and general office areas. The school will include all grade levels of the primary school system in Haiti, from kindergarten to 9th grade.

It is estimated that the school will hire 20 teachers, 1 principal, 1 principal assistant, and 1 janitor. As such, the school will have a good economic impact in the Lascahobas area, with high employment rate. This will be a great economic impact on the area.
